Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Northbook CPAs website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use our services.

Services Description

Northbook CPAs provides professional accounting services including but not limited to:

  • Tax preparation and filing services
  • Bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
  • Business consulting and financial planning
  • CRA representation and correspondence
  • Financial analysis and reporting

Professional Standards

Our services are provided in accordance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and professional standards established by CPA Canada. We maintain professional liability insurance and adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.

Client Responsibilities

As our client, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and timely information
  • Maintain proper documentation and records
  • Pay fees according to agreed terms
  • Respond promptly to requests for information
  • Notify us of any changes affecting your financial situation

Fees and Payment

Service fees are as quoted and may vary based on complexity and scope of work. Payment terms are typically:

  • Tax preparation: Payment due upon completion
  • Monthly services: Payment due by the 15th of each month
  • Consulting: Payment due within 30 days of invoice

Late payments may be subject to interest charges of 1.5% per month.

Confidentiality

We maintain strict confidentiality of all client information in accordance with professional accounting standards and Canadian privacy laws. Client information will not be disclosed without written consent except as required by law.

Limitation of Liability

Our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or punitive damages.

Professional Independence

We maintain independence in accordance with professional standards. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services if independence would be compromised or if we believe our services are being used inappropriately.

Termination

Either party may terminate our professional relationship with 30 days written notice. Upon termination:

  • All outstanding fees become immediately due
  • We will return client records upon request
  • Confidentiality obligations continue indefinitely

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or technical failures.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved through the courts of Ontario or through alternative dispute resolution as mutually agreed.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
